about

This song is concerned with the desire to know what's just beyond the realm of our perception or understanding. This can either be beyond the possibilities of our consciousness or as simple as "what's going on in the other room, i know they're up to something!"
We can't resist this as humans and jealousy feeds into the same feelings as a desire for higher consciousness. We can hopefully all admit we hope to use that higher knowledge to solve mysteries surrounding the simple things that drive us crazy today? It's also just a nod to our obsession with mystery; scary movies, fantasy novels, the news... You name it, it's there. You can tell by the music that I choose to take this problem lightheartedly. Notice the extremely slow drum beat. I wish more songs had that quarter time feel!

lyrics

What's on the other side of the other side of the other side? When I find out I'll have to ask, "What's underneath the other side of the other side of this?"

What's underneath the other side? Behind the waves, beneath the tides, after the end, behind the cracks, around the bend, around the back, behind the eyes, beneath the smile, after the freeze, before the child, inside the tomb, in envelopes, in the next room, in microscopes, inches above the maidens tower, what's seconds past the witching hour?
