This song is very special to me. It was written about my girlfriend at the time assuming that we were breaking up. It is meant to inspire one although it's also saying "We can't be together." Needless to say we made up then I felt like I couldn't play the song I was so proud of because it would have been awkward. Eventually I did and all was well. Now around the same time I had been obsessed with The Robot Ate Me (Ryland Bouchard's) music and this person was a fan too. We had a special trip where we saw him play several states away and his music meant much to us as a team. When I moved to Portland, he ended up mastering this very record and I asked him to play clarinets on the recording of this song. Hard not to get teary eyed thinking about this story.
